The Central on Maud project at 6-12 Maud Street, Maroochydore was an extension of an existing building comprising a ground floor lobby and under croft car park with two levels of office space above with a pay for use car park also constructed on the adjacent lot.

The project commenced in March 2013 and reached practical completion approximately one month ahead of the contractual deadline.

The construction methodology adopted was traditional slab on ground and suspended concrete decks with formed columns between levels and precast panels for the northern and western external walls on levels one and two. Traditional masonry and glazing completed the external perimeter of the new build.

This project was undertaken in two parts; a base build and a fitout. All works were undertaken with stringent conditions as the current tenant, Unity Water, was still occupying the building so disruptions were kept to an absolute minimum. This was only possible with high level coordination by RCQ Construction staff. Unity Water moved into the building seamlessly and with positive feedback.

This project was the proud recipient of the 2014 Sunshine Coast Master Builders Award for Commercial Building (office accommodation) up to $5M.
